Sayyid Al-Hakeem Reiterates Rome Partnership, Competencies Government Support, Economic Openness to Italian Ambassador
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received this morning at His office in Baghdad the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Iraq, Mr. Niccolò Fontana.
During the meeting, they discussed Iraq–Italy relations and avenues for advancing them in ways that serve the mutual interests of both nations and their friendly peoples. H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem highlighted the importance of building on the long-standing ties between the two countries and further strengthening cooperation across political, economic, and cultural spheres.
On the domestic front, His Eminence reviewed the current phase Iraq is navigating, emphasizing the urgency of resolving constitutional obligations and noting that the challenges at hand require the formation of a fully empowered government. H.E. stressed that all stakeholders must shoulder their responsibilities in safeguarding the public interest of Iraq and its people.
Regionally, H.E. reaffirmed the importance of restoring stability, calling on the international community to actively support dialogue and help create the conditions necessary to achieve it, underscoring that such stability remains a key foundation for broader global stability.
