Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Christian Component Valuable Addition, Iraqi Culture Enrichment
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, visited the Patriarchate of the Assyrian Church of the East in Erbil Governorate and met with Patriarch Mar Awa III and a number of Christian clergymen, stressing the importance of the Christian component in Iraq as a valuable addition and a source of enrichment for Iraqi culture, and commending the role of the sons of the Christian component and its figures in serving Iraq throughout its ancient and modern history, and reiterating his call for a voluntary return of Christians to contribute to rebuilding their homeland.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem, in the course of his remarks, pointed to Iraq's current situation, affirming that Iraq has overcome many crises and restored political and social stability and harmony, and affirming that the most significant challenge facing Iraq is the economic challenge, calling for internal cohesion and understanding of the nature of the crisis, which is directly linked to the events of the region and the rising level of escalation there.
