sSayyid Al-Hakeem: Engaging with Elites, Skilled Professionals Shapes Shared National Issues Vision
At the outset of the second day of his tour of Erbil Governorate, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, visited Erbil Medical University and met with the university's president, Dr. Ali Al-Dabbagh, along with the university council and its senior staff, considering the university an important scientific pillar, and noting the importance of engaging with elites and skilled professionals in shaping a shared vision on national issues, recalling the stance of Imam Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified) in supporting the Kurdish people and upholding the sanctity of fighting them, which exposed him to the consequences of that stance.
H.E. affirmed that Iraq is a nation bringing together multiple and diverse peoples, noting that national identity does not mean denying particular identities, stressing that respecting these particularities is a gateway to national unity, and affirming the importance of diversity in Iraq, preserving and managing this diversity, and transforming Iraq's components into bridges of connection with the peoples of the region and the world, pointing to the importance of social engagement and knowledge of the shared languages within the one homeland.
