Sayyid Al-Hakeem Calls Global Companies for Economic Partnerships with Iraq’s Productive Sectors

His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received at his office in Baghdad a delegation from the Iraqi-British Business Council headed by Baroness Emma Nicholson, and discussed with them the economic relations between Iraq and Britain and ways to develop them, stressing the importance of investing the promising opportunities Iraq offers in all fields.
H.E. pointed to the economic challenge facing Iraq amid the ongoing regional events and their impact on the Iraqi reality, explaining that Iraq relies heavily on oil in its fiscal budget while suffering a decline in production and exports, and expressed hope that the crisis will end soon given its impact on the global economy.
H.E. renewed the call to free the economy from dependence on a single source of income and to diversify it by activating productive sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology, calling on global companies to establish mutual partnerships with Iraq in these fields, along with the importance of exchanging experience and expertise with British companies.
